Sheer Perfection from Borne
24 May 2011

There is something really, very liberating about wearing a sheer fabric...what better way to exercise this preference, than in the form this white georgette Graf top by borne by Elsie Berger. An undeniably feminine take on a menswear classic.

Mutual respect at the Minimarket
10 May 2011

Spring/summer really is a wonderfully vibrant time. In celebration of the imminent arrival of our anticipated Spring selection from Minimarket, we thought it would be nice to celebrate the merits of this striking yet soulful showing of Mini for Many, the labels younger sister. It really is rather splendid. For a better look at what you, can, look forward to wearing very soon, visit the elder sister Minimarket.

Meet... Math Collective
28 April 2011

pic

This cut out shirt dress, in tan silk, is an exemplary representation of the wonderful understated aesthetic of our newest label Math Collective.

Washed silks, made in Italy, are cut beautifully to create luxe basics for which to style as desired. Simple shapes and silhouettes are made individual by subtle design details like graduating hem lengths, cut-outs or an impromptu pop of tomato red. Math Collective will prove a very welcome addition to any insightful spring shopper.

Natalie and Holly-b from TBA
22 March 2011

pic

This is a great image from TBA's S/S 11 lookbook and see's a lovely girl, modelling Natalie and Holly-b from the current collection.

We are rather fond of this laid back look from To Be Adored and think it is somewhat reminiscent of sleepwear. Wearing a sleepwear inspired look during the day is no bad thing, when done as femininely as this, it is really rather cool. To consider this look see Christina wearing Natalie here and Holly-b here. Made from 100% silk and in a dreamy nude colour, Natalie and Holly-b also work well worn individually and when styled to suit, create a perfectly modern spring look, to wear now. JuJu-b is also considered a suitable companion.

Introducing: 'Where the F#*! is my Sailor?' by Ivana Helsinki
10 March 2011

pic

Introducing, part one of 'Where the F#*! is my Sailor?' from Ivana Helsinki.

As described by designer Paola Suhonen:
"It's all about girls who have lost their men to the sea, or who are longing for the ones that haven't yet arrived.
The idea is really poetic and even sad, but I wanted to find an edgier way to show longing and I think a modern girl
would express herself by shouting (the show's title) to the sea."

For us modern girls, this means no ordinary nautical inspired collection, modern shapes and exaggerated proportions make for a real distinctive wear.

21 September 2010

Fresh from London Fashion Week and fully fueled, we can’t help but get excited for next season, already. A mood lifting, Spring/Summer 2011 pantone prediction, by WWD, was most certainly evident within the collections of our favourite labels. We particularly like; ‘Pea pod14-6324’  - the colour of new beginnings!
